The School The Pine Valley School of Karate has been operating in Hoosick Falls since April of 1999.Class meets one night a week and is held in the hall of the Hoosick Falls Joint Fire District. Class are on Tuesday nights.
6PM-7PM for Beginners (all ages) and Kids (age 5-10).
7PM-8:30PM for Youth (age 11 & 12) and Adults.
The Teacher Sensei Donald L. McCabe (Sensei@PineValleyKarate.com)is a life long resident of Hoosick Falls. He has trained with the Triangle School of Karate under the tutelage of Sensei Martin Davis, from 1984-2016. He received Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) in October 1991. He continued training and in February 2006 was promoted to Yondan (4th degree Black belt). He continued to train with the Cambridge Valley Martial Arts until it closed in 2016 in conjunction with teaching the Pine Valley School of Karate. Cambridge Valley Martial Arts was the Honbu Dojo of The Triangle Karate Association.
Pine Valley School of Karate's teaching staff is complimented some talented assistants: Sensei Lisa McCabe, Sandan (3rd degree black belt) Is Sensei McCabe's assistant (DaiSempie) and also conducts the beginner session from 6PM-7PM.
The class utilizes higher ranking students (usually Brown and Purple belts) to supplement teaching staff for beginning students.
Every students gets the attention he/she needs for their level of experience.
On October 6, 2007, Sensei Lisa became the 4th generation black belt actively training in the schools then affiliated association, Triangle Karate Association. She is preceded by her teacher, Sensei Donald McCabe (her husband), Sensei Martin Davis (Sensei Don's teacher) and Shihan Louis Stanishia (Sensei Davis' teacher).
